Director Competition

Elevate your directorial vision. A mentor faculty member will hand-select and guide you through the choreographic process.

Entry Fee$80/dancer

Overview

First come, first serve — only 6 director slots are available.

Entry fee: $80 per dancer, minimum 4 dancers.

Each director will be paired with a mentor faculty member.

The mentor will guide the director through the creative process.

The final piece will be performed at the Neovate Showcase.

Must submit a choreography video showcasing your directorial work.

Must submit an improv video demonstrating your movement and creativity.

Must submit a slate video introducing yourself.

All three videos are required to complete your application.

Open to all registered convention attendees.

Directors must be the primary choreographer of their piece.

Pieces must be original choreography created during the event.

Maximum performance time: 3 minutes.

Music must be submitted by the posted deadline.

All content must be age-appropriate.

Props and costumes are permitted but not required.
